Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

We're headed to Corkscrew Swamp for an early winter photo trip. Here's a picture from our last visit there in October 2008.

If you've never seen a white pelican close-up you're missing out. These birds are the opposite of their brown cousins - vibrant and alive. The next several weeks provide an excellent opportunity for viewing at E G Simmons County Park in Ruskin.

We spent the weekend at Sanibel Island. This photo was taken on the wildlife drive at Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. There were some manatees playing near the shoreline and out of the corner of my eye I noticed this white colored heron looking for an "easy" breakfast meal.
